A corps member, Julius Oghoroko, who was serving with a government organization in Anambra State today, had narrowly escaped death after being shot by unknown gunmen.
Sources told SaharaReporters that the Delta State born Corps member was returning from a function with his friend when he was shot. He was mistakenly identified for a cult member by a rival group and was shot at point blank range. The assailants fled, sources say.
It was a messy crime scene. Blood gushed out of his body before he was immediately rushed to the Anambra State Teaching Hospital, in Amaku. It is there where the wounded man was given emergency treatment, with a team of doctors feverishly working to save his life.
Confirming the incident to SaharaReporters through several phone calls, the Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police said an investigation into the case is underway.
The Command, through his spokesman, Emeka Chukwuemeka, disclosed that surveillance had been ‘beefed-up’ around Umunya, in Oyi local government area of the state, where a source said the incident occurred.

Pastor uses machete on wife for missing church programme

ABEOKUTA — An Ogun State Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Owode Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, yesterday, remanded a Pastor, Samuel Daniel in prison for using a machete on his wife.
He was arraigned on a two-count charge of assault and providing false information, which is punishable under Sections 338 and 192 criminal code Vol 1 law of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused, who was a Pastor with an Apostolic Church in Ode Remo area of the state, reportedly went to his wife’s place of work at Itori village in Owode-Egba on December 10, 2013 and used the machete on her for abandoning church programmes.
He was reported to have taken his wife to the hospital and reported the case at Owode-Egba Police Station, but lied that two unknown persons attacked his wife.
After an investigation, he was reportedly arrested by the Police and charged to court. At the last adjourned date, Daniel pleaded not guilty while his counsel, Joy Augustine, filled a bail application arguing that the offence is bailable.
Presiding Magistrate, E. J. Ojikutu granted him N100,000 bail with two sureties in the like sum and adjourned till May 26, while the accused, who appeared to have suffered partial stroke, remain in prison.

ABEOKUTA — The Ogun State Police Command said yesterday, that it had arrested a pastor identified as  Adekunle Kayode, 34, for conducting virginity test on  a 20-year-old female member of his church in Abeokuta, the state capital, using his finger.
Kayode, a pastor in charge of Jesus Is The Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta, was reportedly arrested by detectives attached to Kemta Division  in his house, 3, Okeyidi Street, Abeokuta.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said the pastor’s arrest was carried out when the victim narrated her ordeal to her father who then informed the police of the incident.
The pastor was reported to have been engaging in the act in the church weekly in a bid to confirm the girl’s virginity status.
According to the PPRO, “there was also a drama when the victim received ‘holy spirit’ which propelled her to reveal the misdeeds of the pastor who has indulged in this ungodly act for years.
“Another suspect arrested for similar offence  is one Onatade Oluwasegun, 23, of 4, Sheriff Onatade Street, Obantoko for conspiring with the said pastor to use the victim for a ritual purpose.

  A mother of four, Taiwo Arum, on Friday told an Igando Customary Court, Lagos, that her husband usually raped her in the presence of their children.Taiwo, 41, is seeking the order of the court to dissolve her 11-year-old marriage to Jamiu.The woman who was in tears while narrating her ordeal in court, also said that Jamiu used to beat her “mercilessly” before raping her.“My husband, Jamiu usually beat me before raping me in the presence of our children.“After the attack, our children normally advised me to cooperate with him, so that he will not kill me.“On each occasion, nobody could hear my crying because of the noise from some of our tenants’ generators”, she told the court.Taiwo, a building materials seller, said Jamiu usually gave her and their four children only N400 feeding allowance daily.The woman, who claimed to be the fourth wife, said that the children lacked fatherly care and affection.Jamiu, 45, a transporter, denied the allegations, claiming, “I did not hit her, she is blowing the issue out of proportion’’.The husband stated that he still loved his wife and urged the court not to dissolve the marriage.The President of the Court, Mr Adewale Eko, ordered the husband to start paying N5,000 to his estranged wife as weekly allowance to cater for the children.Eko advised them to go and meet the elders in both families for amicable resolution and adjourned..

Rape case of music director Asward Ayinde

In a disturbing case, award-winning music video director, Aswad Ayinde, 55, of Paterson, NJ, who directed the Fugees 1996 smash hit ‘Killing Me Softly,’ was sentenced to 90 years in prison on Friday after being found GUILTY of fathering six... (6) children with his own daughters.

Ayinde’s former wife said he was trying to create a ‘pure family bloodline’ by impregnating his daughters. He even claimed during a pre-trial hearing that 'the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen.' It was also revealed that Ayinde began having intercourse with his second daughter from the time she was eight-years-old, impregnating her four times.

 

 

Man blinds a married woman because she refused him sex

A 35-year old man, Arinze Kingsley, has left a married woman, Mrs Amaka Ohanwe, partially blind when she allegedly refused his sexual advances, PM News.

Amaka was seriously injured in her right eye when she was allegedly beaten up by Kingsley at a beauty salon. She said after undergoing several operations, the doctors at Apapa General Hospital confirmed that she cannot see with the eye again.

Following the assault, the police at Area ‘B’ Apapa arrested Kingsley and charged him with assault before Apapa Magistrate’s Court after which he was remanded in Kirikiri Prisons in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

Both Amaka and Kingsley, who is still single, admitted that they were friends but Amaka said they were just friends not lovers.

She said she stopped relating with Kingsley when she discovered that he was desperate to have sex with her despite the fact that he knew that she was married and had two kids.

She said after several attempts by him to sleep with her failed, he became aggressive and when she noticed that, she started avoiding him.

Amaka said Kingsley eventually traced her to a salon at Pen Crescent, Apapa, Lagos where she went to have her hair done and attacked her in front of the beauty shop.

“He waited for me outside the salon. When he saw me, he started abusing me after I refused his advances. I replied him and he hit my eye and threw me on the floor. He started  hitting his head on my eyes until I started bleeding,” she told the court.

It was the girl's mother that suggested to police that James Cosby may have killed the girls because he'd said to her a few times that he hated that his daughter was in lesbian relationship and became enraged after the ladies moved in together. She said father and daughter didn't see eye to eye and argued a lot about her sexuality. Cosby had even once attacked Crystal at his home.

Investigators went to the father's house after obtaining a search warrant and found blood and other evidence that suggested something had happened at the home. They found blood on the walls, on the sofa and on the speakers. They also found writings condemning homosexuality.

The police officers seized a hammer and noticed a missing window shutter. A similar shutter was found covered in blood and bearing James Cosby's fingerprints next to the women's bodies.

Cosby, who has a long criminal history, had been released from prison about five months ago

A court in Pretoria today was shown dramatic photos of murder suspect Oscar Pistorius moments after he killed his girlfriend at his home on February 14th 2013. The photos show the Paralympian bare chested with blood smeared all over his shorts and prosthetic legs. The photos were taken by police photographers who arrived 40 minutes after the shooting.

Members of OPC rescue raped 14 year old girl in Agege Nigeria.

Members of the O’odua People’s Congress, OPC, and concerned Lagosians rescued a teenager, who was raped, robbed and abandoned by an unidentified man in Agege area of Lagos, PM News reports
