Senatorial aspirant’s house set ablaze over Edo APC ward congress.

BENIN—THE All Progressives Congress, APC, ward congresses in Edo State on Tuesday, snowballed into violence as suspected party thugs invaded and razed the country home of the party’s senatorial aspirant, Mr. Theophilus Okoh in Ibori, Esan Central Local Government Area.
The thugs, who were said to have stormed the home of the APC chieftain at 2.30a.m. in a white Hilux bus and a Jeep were said to be on a reprisal attack, following their defeat at the congress, just as it was learnt that initial attempts to disrupt the congress was resisted by the people.
An eyewitness and the ward party leader, Ololo Okoeki, described the party congress in the ward as free, adding that he had earlier received a life-threatening phone call few minutes before the attack.
He claimed that he saw about two vehicles at 2a.m., racing down to the senatorial aspirant’s house and then he got a call that the building had been set on fire.
Okoh said: “Let us see how far those that said they can achieve anything by violence go.”
